Bootlog

A log of everything that loaded and/or happened during the boot process. Many operating systems, network devices, and other complex hardware devices contain a bootlog to help monitor the computer or device as it boots and help diagnose a problem if one happens as the computer is booting.

Microsoft Windows users who wish to create a bootlog need to edit the boot.ini file and add a /bootlog switch. Additional information about the boot.ini file can be found on document CH000492.
