Communications server

A communications server is a server or another hardware device (e.g., router) that allows multiple computers to access communications lines that are connected to the device. For example, sharing a broadband Internet connection.
Despite their different features, all communications servers have the following attributes: they are flexible, open, carrier-grade, and communications-focused.
