Dock

1. A bar located at the bottom of the Apple computers running Mac OS that allows quick access to programs you frequently use as well as running programs and files. In the below picture, is an example of what the Dock may look like.

In the right portion of the Dock is the stacks, by default the three stacks are Applications, Documents, and Downloads.

Tip: Users more familiar with Microsoft Windows computers can think of the Dock as the Taskbar.

2. When referring to a docking station, the term dock refers to the process of connecting your computer to the docking station.
