Dot may refer to any of the following:

Single blue square or dot.

In an RPG (role-playing game) or MMORPG (massively-multiplayer online role-playing game), DoT (Damage Over Time) is a spell or effect that damages a player or NPC (non-player character) periodically over a set interval. For example, a poisoned player may suffer 30 damage every second for ten seconds. In this case, the poison would be considered a DoT (damage over time) effect.
