Processor developed by Intel and introduced on April 1, 1974 that utilized an 8-bit architecture, had 6,000 transistors, was capable of running at speeds of 2-MHz, and could access up to 64KB of memory. This processor was first used in the Altair one of the world's first personal computers and had 10 times the performance of the 8008.
