Suffix

  1. In general refers to a letter, letters, or one or more words added to another word.
  2. When referring to a command line command suffix, suffix is one or more additional command options added to the command. For example, the MS-DOS command: "dir /p", the /p is the suffix of the dir command.
  3. Another name for a file extension.
