Tcsh (pronounced "tee-see-shell" or "tee-see-ess-aysh") is a command-line shell similar to the C shell (csh). It was developed by Ken Greer in the late 1970s with the purpose of adding command completion to the user experience of a command shell. It was first released to the public in 1983. Tcsh is completely compatible with csh, and adds many useful features.
