Thank you for that link. I did everything it said and it still didn't work. Either my TV is too old or my cable is too long. It said that I shouldn't use a cable longer than 12 ft or I won't get as good as an image. Well I am using a 25 ft cable and I get no image at all.

I may try to get a shorter cable or just wait till I get a new TV. Thanks for all the responses. I posted this question on 6 different sites and this is the only one that I got any response from.

Anyone want to buy a 25 foot S-video to AV cable? ;)

Something like this converter is probably what you need.  It takes a VGA input, which you should have, and has a composite video output.

I doubt it's the cable. I've got a 30' cable that I've used more than a few times for video feeds. There may be a problem with converting from the s-video signal to rca, and in that case a converter like rthompson80819 suggested may do the trick.

Edit: I just checked on some of the reviews for svideo to rca adapters on Amazon, and everyone that used them (much like the ones you described) said that they work perfectly....... I'll try some things with my laptop and an adapter and let you know what I find out.
