Interernet Exlorer 6.0

Hi FRiends,
     Hope someone can help.  I Have Windows XP-Home Editin and this morning I had to  Re-install the operating system. Most things went well except now...When click to open my Yahoo Mail...I Get into ONLY for a matter of seconds...THen Its like I get the boot and im poof...Out of Mail and Internet Explorer as well. Before re-installing I had never had any problems with going into my mail. Can someone advise me whats up here......I Would really appreciate the help and advice an THank You to Computer Hope

The number one question is why did you have to reinstall your OS?

More info on your computer would be helpful.

Why not upgrade to IE 8, or Firefox?

Sorry rTHOMpSON.....I did NOT realize that I had timed out...ANYWAY:  Reason I needed to re-install operating system is...I believe I CAUGHT A VIRUS when I opened an E-Mail sent by Facebook. SO....I tried Scans first with no success and So....I re-installed OS. After Re-installing..first thing I did was to install AVG for my protection and after getting everything up and ready...It was my intention to Upgrade to ie8. I went to my Mail more or less checking my navigation and After about 10 seconds or less in Mail...POOF!!! I was booted or something and my browser shut down also.  Apparently I am NOT having the same problem HERE or I wouldn't be typing this 2 you.  SO...Do you think that Internet Explorer 8 will solve my getting kicked out of mail problem?  The Computer is a Pentium 3 with XP-Home EDition and a used computer and Up till now, Everything has been running just fine UNTIL Dumb Me opened that E-Mail and the link did something aromatically also because other friends of mine were also infected...OUCH!!!  Can you PLEASE HELP my friend and Thank You

this seems wierd but how is it that you have explorer 6.0 on win xp since i think win 95 has like 5 try using a diff web browser like rthompson said i also suggest you use safari 4 from apple heres a link: http://www.apple.com/safari/

First thing I would do is download Firefox and see if you have the same problem.  You may still have the same problem, but that would eliminate the browser as the problem.  It's always good to have multiple browsers to help trouble shoot a problem like this anyway.

And at some point I would upgrade to IE8, but maybe wait until you get the mail problem solved.  Some times it's better not to introduce too many variables all at once to help identify the problem.

Sarari would bee just as good.  Why not download both.

Thank You rThompson......After re-instally OS   And Making sure I had AVG.... I Gave my problem to Computer Hope and You responded...While reading your response while Windows Updates were being installed...I noticed that Internet 8 IS one of the Updats....lol...Anyway....I agree with you on NOT burning bridges behind us 2 soon and be ready to try other browsers.  I Will Certainly let you know How this goes my friend and Thank you very much for your help

Windows 95 didn't come with Internet Explorer originally. the "re-releases" came with IE4.

XP comes with IE6.
