I definitely would like to do something more drastic. But I don't have a ton of time to devote to it and I would like to keep the forums / site semi functional at the same time. I actually played around a little with converting all the text on the forum to another language or changing keywords to start trek related words, e.g. "start" to "engage" but after thinking about it for awhile I assumed it'd cause too many issues.

yeah, I'd think the purpose of the forum makes it hard to change too much without making it difficult for the users who came here for computer help; it can be especially confusing if a user posts a topic, then they come back to check for replies and find everything completely different. As it is now I'd say you did the best you could get away with without causing too many problems. (of course there is always the dense lot who never really knows what's happening and asks things like "Oh no the logo at the top changed am I infected?" )

No this will be changing back to normal tonight. However, it's likely that when changed back I'll be switching the forums to a new forum header and some other minor modifications as mentioned in the header change thread.

After your explanation I realize that it was an April Fools thing. My question is why change back? What's wrong with using the Star Trek theme permanently? The look is great, I find it more user friendly and I liked being known as a Petty Officer First Class much more than being known as a beginner.
