There's a good chance that it will. Pentium IIs running at 266, 300, 350, 400, and 450 MHz were released in late 1998. They all used FSB of 100MHz. Consult the motherboard manual.
You can find manuals for any motherboard. Look for a part number silkscreened on the motherboard. Usually no manufacturer, just some alphanumerics. Google the alphanumerics.
... Instead of asking all these questions, can you tell me what it is I need to know once I find out what the motherboard is? At least I can can have something concrete to give to you all.
Well let me ask this then...going from a P2 300mhz to a P2 450mhz isn't as cut and dry as if I just just changed the jets in a Holley carb to fix idle mixture issues or stumbles at lauch correct.
Haven't found one yet. That's why the questions...I won't buy one if it isn't going work. Just trying to cover the bases by asking here first.
If you're lucky, it will also support Pentium III. I just happen to have a couple slot-1's sitting here.
I stumbled on the Intel website and went into the Processors Forum and it seems a bit obvious that either no one has been brave enough to try this yet or if someone has they're not talking. Should I just forget about it or give it a try? What is the worse that can happen?
