The cd rom has gone bad need a different one. Just need to know newer drives are compatible. The one that's in it now is a philips cdd4851

    I believe your broken drive has an IDE interface and so make sure your new one has the same...unless or course your MB also has SATA capability in which case that's what I'd choose.
