error disabling connection

when i  disable my network connection in windows XP sp2  and I get an error saying
error disabling connection - It is not possible to disable the connection at this time. This connection maybe using one or more protocols that do not support Plug and play, or it may have been initiated by another user or the system account.

any help plz

Take a look at the properties for the network and see if you have anything else setup along with TCP/IP

Open Device Manager, go under Network adapters, right-click on the adapter you want disabled and click disable. Not, this will disable the device, but if the person knows anything about computers they could go back into device manager and easily re-enable it.

To open Device Manager click Start, run, and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. Additional information and help with the Windows device manager can also be found on the below link.
