August monthly poll - What type of mouse do you use?
« on: August 01, 2010, 03:06:37 AM »
With Apple recently introducing their new magic mouse and magic touchpad, we thought it would be interesting for the month of August to see what mouse you primarily use. Feel free to make a post about the model and manufacturer of your mouse, if it's wireless, why you like/dislike it, other mouses you have used, and anything else you think may be relevant.

All past monthly polls and results can also be found on the Computer Hope poll page.

"Other" - I use a Logitech G5.  Two standard buttons and a wheel, plus a back and a forward button.  Although right now I'm in purgatory using a laptop touchpad.

I voted 'other'. Use Apple's Mighty Mouse (3 buttons + wheel click + 360* scrolling).

However I do often reach over to use my MacBook's mousepad gestures. Their new trackpad's a 'lil too expensive for me.

Everything wired. Hate changing batteries.

I voted Other since I use several computers and can't declare any of them as being primary at this point.

With my laptop, I use a wireless two-button tilt wheel mouse.  It's a Logitech V220.

With my Win XP tower PC, I use a Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard combo.  The mouse has the two main left/right buttons, a tilt wheel, and has an extra small button which can be programmed for various functions.  My only complaint about this mouse is that batteries need to be changed frequently.  I recognized a long time ago I need to use rechargeable batteries for it.

On another tower PC (Windows 7), I have a USB (wired) Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000, a two-button plus tilt wheel plus a small button on the left side for Magnifier.  This is one that Computer Hope Admin <hi, Nathan > wrote a negative review on some months ago, but I have been generally satisfied with it.

Of course, all three of these mice are optical.  I was recently reminded what a nuisance a ball mouse can be to clean inside when I visited a friend to assist with some computer issues. His old ball mouse was not very cooperative when moved over the mouse pad.  I opened it and cleaned some lint off the sensor rollers and it worked much better.

All Logitech, all cordless. My favorite is the Revolution (I have 3 of them) followed closely by the MX1000

Wireless.  I always keep two batteries nearby.

Three button plus wheel, and the wheel can function as a fourth button.

I use the one that came with my system. Probably not an expensive model. Logitech Model M-SBF90 .two button plus wheel, wired optical.  I like this mouse, it has served me well. ;D

I've got a really nice trackball mouse..  It does wonders in minimizing pain.. It takes practice to get use to it...to get to the point where you can appreciate having it.

This laptop has a touch pad, but I only use my wheel mouse on a USB.
In fact, I would like to disable this @@^% touch pad!

I have mine disabled. My laptop (Compaq Presario F572US) has a small button on the edge of the touchpad and pressing the button toggles the touchpad off and on.  It's a handy feature; I'm glad my laptop has it.

It's a keyboard with only the three most important keys, of course.  ;D

If you have to reboot so often that you replace your keyboard with that, you may have a few other issues going on.
