CD Driver

I have Dos 6.22 installed on a custome machine,  thing is that I wanted it to have some access to the cd drive.  I have the driver required, when I got to the dos DIR.  I only see a *.sys do I copy the file to the root of C:/ or is there something else that I have to do.  Then how do I tell it to see the cd drive.

You don't need to. Just use the generic driver.

Well I changed config.sys an autoexect.bat.  How do you tell it to load from the drive know?

Like I tried to change the directory from C:/ to D:/  However, Im not able to see the contents of the disk.  Even though its declared too see it.

Like how you would from C:/ to A:/.  Simply enter A:/ then a dir to look at the contents.

here is what I was looking for.  http://www.computerhope.com/mscdex.htm  I misplaced a very good dos book   So sadly I didnt remember a whole lot about it an the other book is older ver 3.0

You don't enter a:/

This will give an error.

You just enter a: (drive letter then a colon)

No slash.

I seen people do that, I'm used to seeing it both ways.  I dont think that it gives me an error but, were good here know.

You're right. In MS-DOS 6.22 it works.

I'll explain this simply its a driver that is needed for an old Operating System to permit use of the cd drive.  It mite not work that way with anything lower then 6.22 but, that is how I learned it Salmon
