According to passmark (which is a high regarded benchmark software):

GeForce GTX 480

If it is too expensive, I reccomend the MSI GeForce GTX 260 (the one that says twinfreezer or something) or any 9800 GT. I own both of these cards and they perform very well.

For anyone looking for genuine info and not just trying to spam (like the OP) GTX480 is the fastest single-GPU card, HD5970 is the fastest single card.
