Thank you. I have followed your instructions however the problem remains, although the computer is actually a little faster now. Is a system restore my only hope?

What scanners have you used and have you configured them to do full scans

system restore you should turn it of
this will remove any possible infections stored in that set of files
But do turn it back on after the viruses,Spyware Trojans etc have been removed
