Computer freezes up while playing games.

So, for awhile now my computer has been locking up/freezing and making a weird noise coming from the tower. It only does it when I play video games and it doesn't do it as soon as I start, it always does it eventually though. I've updated video/sound drivers, cleaned out the tower, tried playing with the side of the case off, and nothing seems to be working at all.

I seem to have a somewhat similar problem, only mine occurs whenever. I think Vista was a failure for Microsoft !

What's the video games specs, and what are the specs of your computer, I.E. video card and CPU speed, RAM etc. Has this always happened or has it just started doing this recently
