    Help with sound drivers
    « on: November 16, 2010, 01:08:35 PM »
My husband has a Toshiba model Satellite A105-S2131. He had a Trojan on his laptop that corrupted the drivers. We tried going to the Toshiba site to download them again after uninstalling them and they still end up with the yellow exclamation marks. I don't know if we are missing something or if we need to do something else all together. Can anyone plz help

Did you download and install the chipset driver? And are you certain you are downloading the correct driver for your system / card?

Thats our problem i guess. I keep looking up the drivers for his model and I am not sure we are getting everything right. We tried putting realtek back on because we knew that is what was there. But it still comes up yellow. Another problem is we dont have the boot disk or anything. I think at this point we would have just wiped the thing.

Tried looking up chipsets but don't know where to begin. I keep checking the driver sites.. ie realtek, Toshiba, and even checked microsoft. No clue if we are going to the wrong spots or just simply overlooking what we need. His comp gives us limited information about what there since everything is wiped out. It stated there is no sound or audio device and puts up a code 39.

Thank you. I think we are going blind from looking so much stuff up. We messed with this all night and as soon as we got up this morning. We will run that and see what that is.

Ok we have the realtek high definition audio on the computer. it is detecting it but has yellow exclamation marks. Also microsoft WINMM WDM audio compatibility driver also with yellow exclamation. Have tried reinstalling the realtek and still does the same thing. Dont know where we have to backtrack. I just want to get his comp up and running. :(

In the link I posted click on the Download tab. Then enter your Operating System. Then choose "driver" in the dropdown box. Then download and install the chipset driver and any other drivers you need. And don't just "download" them. After they are downloaded you need to install them.
