Flash Drive - Format Nag - Possible Boot Sector Error
    « on: November 19, 2010, 10:15:26 PM »
It broke when I was using my XP, currently I'm using my Windows 7 (64 bit).

I have a PNY Attache 8GB Flash Drive that nags me to format when I insert it to (any) computer. I have tried formatting it with DISKPART and Disk Management. I've tried CHKDSK but it reports that the Disk is RAW type.

It broke when I was attempting to make it bootable. I succeeded but I guess I attempted too much, and now it doesn't work. I tried many software and one reported that it has an error in the 1st boot sector.

HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool won't work on it.

Also I can't create/delete the partition on it.

Unfortunately sounds like you've tried everything I could think of to suggested, based off everything you've done I'd imagine the Flash Drive is bad. Suggest purchasing a new one.
