    System Restore
    « on: June 30, 2011, 02:46:12 PM »
For some reason, my laptop keeps telling me that I need to do a system restore. I have done so but everytime I shut down, it keeps telling me that the problem is still there and that I must restore again. What is going on?

What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

Also, what is the EXACT message you get and when do you get it?

when starting up, there is a message on the screen saying that the computer did not shut down properly and that I can either start in safe mode or normally. It won't work if I start normally so i select safe mode with networking and then a message came up saying to restore the system, which i did. I can't think of anything that would be causing this as I scanned for viruses/spyware/etc. about a week before and nothing came up, no new software was added or anything. i haven't even been on the computer that much this past while because of schoolwork.

@allan, wondering if a Windows CD repair would help?

You can boot to the W7 dvd and run the startup repair options. At this point it can't hurt.
