until now when I wanted to use 2 different font sizes. I can live with only one font size, I just thought it would be nice to have the heading enlarged.
Wordpad definitely will save a file in RTF format with more than one font size. It's a very simple matter. Create your file. Save it in RTF format, which I believe is the default format. Then, whatever you saved, font and all, will be displayed when you open that file. If this isn't working for you, then apparently you don't know how to do this simple task.
I don't know what else we can advise that hasn't already been said. If you lose font sizes when saving a file, that indicates you are saving it Text format, not RTF. Yet, you say you are saving in RTF format. That simply makes no sense, so I don't see how we go any further with this. Looks like you'll have to spend the rest of your life with one font size.
Edit: I've attached a Wordpad with three font sizes used in it. Save it to your hard drive and then open it. Does it still have the three sizes?
