HANGING OF A SYSTEM

Good day,
 i put on my system this morning and with  light on mother board,fan is working,processor ok,ram compatible and perfectly working.but still the system is hanging,how do i trobleshoot this kind of this problem?

Define "hanging". EXACTLY what happens and when does it happen?

What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?
