It doesnt say which website Im on
    « on: December 24, 2011, 08:37:50 PM »
First off, Merry Christmas!! You guys have been a big help on this board with my many computer problems. Its much appreciated, believe me. Well, anyway have a Merry Christmas and have a healthy and safe New Year!!

Ok, now here is my problem. I pressed a button and Im not sure which one but I cant see which website Im on. In other words, for ex., the website "ComputerHope.com" should be on the very top of the screen and below that should be the url that says www.computerhope.com. Well, the url is there but there is nothing above it. It doesnt say ComputerHope.com, there is nothing there.

    Are you using internet explorer?

Is the address bar completely missing from your screen?

Doesnt work when I press F11. When I press F11, where it should say the website that Im on, disappears and my url appears at the very top of the screen.

where it should say the website that Im on,
Your reffering to the 'tab' display correct?
Are you sure it's not shown to the right ot the URL?
If so, right click on the bar and select 'Show Tabs on Seperate Row' in the drop down menu.

I think in the past before tabs the website named showed in the very top of the window.  For example, if you open system information, it will read "System Information" in the very top of the window.  But, if you open anything that uses IE (I think), it's blank.  If you do Windows Update, because I think it uses IE, "Windows Update" isn't at the very top of the window.

Good call, I've never used IE9, but after googling for a few images, it seems that IE9 doesn't show anything in the title bar. Whoever made that design decision ought to be shot. There is no reason for it to be blank, now it's just wasted space!

So I guess the answer for the Original Poster is "This behaviour is by design"...

Okay, I see now what the issue is, and yes my IE9 does not show this information at the top on the computer I'm online with now but it does show it on my other computer using IE8.

        There's your answer Jack Catalano.

        Thanks Doug & BC_Programmer.  ;)

I'm running Win 7, IE 9 and the bar showing the website is there on top. I can't remember if it was there before I moved the Favorites bar back to the left side. Try moving the cursur to the top & right click. The options are there.
