Virus is stopping me downloading programs... windows explorer pops up over and o

Hi i beleive i have a virus on my computer which is stopping me from downloading programs.

When i go to download a program the link shows up at the bottom of my screen as usual. However it shows an internet page simbol and when i click on it it opens up windows explorer over and over again till i switch off my computer.

The program i was trying to download was Kompozer but it had done it before and now does it on all downloads. Does anyone have an idea on what the problem is?

If you have a nice anti-virus program, I would recommend running a scan and seeing if it picks up a virus, if it does then you can remove it.
