Hey guys just had a question about website fees

I have a close friend of mine who is asking me to put together a website for his business.  He doesn't want anything extravagant, no shopping cart or anything along those lines.  Basically a 5 page setup with pages such as Company History, Awards Obtained, Services Contact etc... I am really at a loss on what to charge him for this though? What do you think is a fair fee to ask?

Sorry...

I live in New York state.

As for updates maybe 6 times a year.

This advice is not from personal experience, but from knowing a few web designers. In England, there are different rates depending on where you live, less in the North of England and more in the south and even more in the Capitol. However, the average rate where i live (the North of England), is about £400 which is around $635.

I'm not sure of the cost of maintenance.

As reddevilggg has indicated (as in the example of his own geography) NY state is a vast area. I would suspect that rates in Danamora would vary considerably from NY city for instance. I know none of this is giving you a precise answer. However what i would suggest is to call a local web site designer in YOUR area and ask what they would charge YOU to set up what you believe your friend would require. Then applying the "friend" discount proceed accordingly.truenorth
P.S. If as a result of this endeavor it occurs to you that you may wish to enlarge the clientèle beyond your friend then the fees established will become the basis for the future fees. So be careful.

you might want to try google for "website annual maintenance fee" or something similar. Charge him at average price.

Don't forget, when it comes to web design you're not confined to staying within your own country. Many of the most well-known web designers work with people all over the world.

The guesstimate reddevilggg made is fairly close to the standard, I'd imagine.
