    Automatic Minimizing of Game.
    « on: June 30, 2012, 09:20:27 AM »
While playing a game on my PC, after around 20-30 seconds time later, the game automatically minimizes, and the desktop appears.
What should i do in order to prevent this from happening???

Right-click the games shortcut, and choose the compatibility tab. Check off "Disable Desktop Composition".

Give that a try. I had that same problem with almost every single game until I started to change that option.

I tried your idea of "Disable Desktop Composition" but yet no difference, still the game automatically minimizes.

For Example when i'm playing GTA Vice City on my PC, after around 20-30 second later the game just minimizes and the desktop appears.

So what do i need to do in order to prevent this from happening??

Another cause could be malware, or some other background program. My backup program will cause any full-screen program to minimize regardless of the aforementioned setting, for example.

Right click the game's shortcut and select properties. Under the shortcut tab make sure the run option is set to Normal window.

If that doesn't work, click start and type msconfig into the search box and press enter.
Click selective startup under the general tab.
Click to clear the load startup Items check box.
Click the services tab. Click on hide all microsoft services then click disable all then click ok.
Restart the computer and try launching your game.
