    Help-I can't hear you
    « on: August 15, 2012, 07:38:20 PM »
I was attempting to lower the sound volume on my laptop recently. When clicking the speaker icon on my taskbar I go no reaction, so I thought that I was simply disabling  the speakers. Apparently not, now when I go to the speaker icon it says "No Audio Output Device is Installed. What should I do?

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the speakers if they are removable. I had a similar issue once, and that solved the problem.
Also, check in device manager (Start > Right click Computer > Manage > Devices) to see if the audio device is showing up, maybe you will need to reinstall drivers.

Check the sound properties and device manager first. What laptop is it?

Look in device manager. Are there any yellow or red symbols?

Also, What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?
