Windows 2003 SErver Cannot connect to Internet
« on: September 28, 2005, 09:38:34 PM »
I can't configure "Connect to Internet" when I click start wizard, error
message prompt "The wizard cannot set the DHCP scope options. Ensure that the
DHCP server is running and that a scope is defined. Alternatively, disable
the DHCP service manually, and then configure your client computer IP address
properties. For more information about manually configuring client computers.
See help and support"

DHCP Service always stop when I click start.

Server: Dell PowerEdge 1800, has 1 network card. Do we need 2 network card
for setting up DHCP server.

Can anyone advise me.

nickie, you should probably be more descriptive about your overall goals.  If it's just to connect that machine to the internet, what it's telling you is that you have your network connection configured to obtain an ip address automatically.  However, in order for it to do that, you need to have a DHCP server that can assign an ip address to it.  Usually broadband routers or gateways will have a DHCP server built-in.  If you know your network does not have a DHCP server, then you must configure the ip address manually like the message suggests.
