Inkjet printer recommendations wanted

Can anyone recommend a specific inkjet printer that has separate color ink cartridges that are not outrageously priced, and having above average print quality?

You should have no problem using HP printers with Linux.
And printers the emulate HP.

I'm not sure of any good ones but I'd suggest you stay away from HP's touchscreen "smart" printers.  I got one to allow printing from an iPad (Photosmart Premium C310) and is the worst printer I have ever used; slow, unreliable, eats ink and the interface is frustrating to use.  Got so frustrating I now use my 13 year old B/W laser for most stuff!
