Did  anybody mention he needs drivers for BOTH the video card and the display device.

The problem persisted with the native Vista drivers. It's a hardware problem (likely the display adapter).

Vista requires a drive for the display.
Not always. Sometimes.  :)

First of all, no it doesn't. No OS REQUIRES a display driver - those drivers merely tell the OS what resolutions / refresh rates the display is capable of or, in some cases, enable some software features. Second, as I said it has nothing to do with the drivers. Third, please stop posting in this thread - all you are doing is confusing the OP.
