recovery disk

I have 500 gb HD, used for making recovery disk for window 8 ... this disk size reduced to few GB and no free space left. now formatted but cant see 500 gb again. How to recover this 500 GB HD.

More info on what exactly you did...sounds like you interrupted the restore which when launched allocates all space available on the HDD til finished...depending on what app was used.
A screenshot of the HDD from Disk Management will be helpful...that and more details.

Thanks for reply. The recovery disk making was completed. There was no information. Window 8 application was used to make recovery disk and further formatting was also done by Window8.
In any case...formatting shall recover the original volume (500GB0), which I think.
I thought this is a simple solution.

Where did this 500GB drive come from?  If it has more than 1 partition, formatting will not help.
As patio stated, which you did not fully respond to:  "A screenshot of the HDD from Disk Management will be helpful...that and more details."

Are you saying you want the Recovery Partition located on Disk1 to fill the unallocated space?
You can use MiniTool Partition Wizard to do this because it can resize your "F".  Not sure if Win8 can do this, since I think it can only shrink a volume.

Thanks I have done it with window 7 disk management tool. There is now 2 partitions. One 32 GB (recovery) and other 400+ GB as G drive. Is it ok ? I can see now both portions. Thanks again.
