    Downloading videos
    « on: April 04, 2014, 09:10:29 AM »
Is there an easy way for downloading tutorial videos onto my computer?  I use Windows 8.1 and would prefer a download method that does not involve installing additional software on my system.

    Stepbystep instructions much appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Welcome to the CH forum.
    Short answer, NO.
Commercial movies have copyright restrictions that make it har to doa simple download.  This is intentional.
Sites that offer free downloads will:
A.) Requite you to use their software.
B.) Charge a fee for monthly service.

You should understand the watching a movie is not the same as downloading. There are site that let you  watch a movie, but not download it.

    Geek...they are tutorials...
We have no idea what the site policies are...and you shouldn't assume and just shoot him down like that.
Guzeppi visit the site and see what they're policy is...if OK return and we'll get you fixed up.

    Sorry, my bad.
Yes, thee are legal ways to find good materiel without breaking the law.
I just forgot. I was starting to believe nothing was free anymore.
    Found this:
    Quote
Download movies for free and legally
Downloading a film trade is prohibited, unless you pay duty on the sites of video on demand (VOD - Video On Demand). However, there are some sites for watching movies or short films freely with the permission of their authors:
    Short Films
        http://www.shortoftheweek.com/
        http://www.filmsshort.com/
        http://www.shortfilmcentral.com/
        http://tropfest.com/
Some of the stuff looks interesting.
But I am not sure if this is what the OP wants.

I thank all those who have just advised me on downloading tutorials.  Seems to be best policy to forget about downloading to play safe.

Many online tutorials can be accessed anytime.  For example, many tutorials can be viewed on youtube.com.  They are always available when you are connected to the Internet.

My bad. Much material is copyrighted and the authors want compensation.
But yes, tutorials a re  free on many sites.
I did not understand his question correctly. It depends on what he wants.
Example: If you want a free video tutorial on Pet Care, you find many free ones. The cost is paid by the sponsors.
