excessive fragmented files
« on: August 01, 2004, 01:03:02 PM »
Hi! I need some help concerning excessive fragmented files on my hard disk. I'm running windows xp home. I tried to defrag a few times with the system program, but there is still a lot of red bars. What can I do to get rid of all these frag files. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could use better defragmenting software.

I use System Mechanic 4 Professional which comes with an array of useful tools. Including a defragmentation wizard.

Thanks for the info! I'll look into it. I had a funny feeling that the xp program isn't too good!

I donot know if you will notice the difference. If there is one.

You can only find out by testing different defragmentation software.

Good luck to you. perhaps you could let us know what programs you tested and how they performed.
