computer still in box.
« on: December 07, 2005, 06:36:44 AM »
I have just bought myself a new computer; a pre-assembled tower by an independent computer firm and separate monitor and keyboard. My problem is now how to get the damned thing set up as it doesn’t come with any instructions. I have 3 questions:

1. The computer has 2 optical drives: a top drive DVD Recorder DVD RW, CD RW and a lower drive DVD ROM. Which one do I use for installing Windows XP and other software?

2. How do I set up the computer for internet use? I already have an ISP account that I would like to keep but I don’t want to use any ‘Wizards’ as I am worried that they might transfer viruses or bad settings from my old computer.

3. How do I set up my printer with the new computer? (A Hewlett Packard Deskjet 930C). Do I need to download any drivers?

Or do you know of any good web-sites that might answer these type of questions?

Thanks for any advice you may have.

John.

Use the xp internet connection wizard, it's safe to do.
The latest drivers are best for your printer.
