Hello, I've gotten the malware that displays the "The requested resource is in use" message when I try to open any antivirus software or anything related to that.

Booting Windows in Safe Mode still doesn't prevent the virus from running and blocking my applications. I have also scanned my computer using the Kaspersky Rescue Disk, however, it did not detect the virus.

I am currently writing Avira rescue system to a DVD and I will scan my computer, will post results when I am finished. If anybody could help that would be much appreciated.

Edit: The Avira scan did not remove the virus.

Hello and welcome to Computer Hope Forum. My name is Dave. I will be helping you out with your particular problem on your computer.

    1. I will be working on your Malware issues. This may or may not solve other issues you have with your machine.
    2. The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
    3. If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to ask.
    4. Please DO NOT run any other tools or scans while I am helping you.
    5. It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
    6. Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use. Be assured, any links I give are safe.
    7. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

If you can't access the internet with your infected computer you will have to download and transfer any programs to the computer you're using now and transfer them to the infected computer with a CD-RW or a USB storage device. I prefer a CD because a storage device can get infected. If you use a storage device hold the shift key down while inserting the USB storage device for about 10 secs. You will also have to transfer the logs you receive back to the good computer using the same method until we can get the computer back on-line.

The Security log shows you have two AV's active on your computer; Windows Defender which is the resident AV with Windows 10 and Panda. One should be disabled. Try running the other scans in Safe mode.

I have found that some adware called "svcvmx" was starting every time I started my system, I deleted it and all of its related files, but the problem still persists.

Can you run the other scans in Safe Mode?

I see no suspicious processes running when in safe mode, yet despite this, I still get the "the requested resource is in use" message when I run any of the programs in safe mode. I've recently scanned my pc using the AVG rescue disk, this removed several pieces of adware and useless, suspicious programs that were weighing down my cpu, though this did not fix the problem.

Ok. Let's try this but first did you make any changes to this computer prior to being infected? Did you download or install any new programs? Go to your installed programs and see if there are any programs that you do not recognize or did not install.

Please download Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) to your desktop.
There are 2 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.
You only need to get one of these to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.

              rKill.exe
              iExplore.exe
              • Double-click on the Rkill desktop icon to run the tool.
              • If using Vista or Windows 7 right-click on it and choose Run As Administrator.
              • A black DOS box will briefly flash and then disappear. This is normal and indicates the tool ran successfully.
              • If not, delete the file, then download and use the one provided in Link 2.
              • Do not reboot until instructed.
              • If the tool does not run from any of the links provided, please let me know.

If normal mode still doesn't work, run the tool from safe mode.

When the scan is done Notepad will open with rKill log.
Post it in your next reply.

NOTE. rKill.txt log will also be present on your desktop.

The infection is stopping these scans from running but it may allow this one to run.

Please download Farbar Service Scanner to the desktop and run it on the computer with the issue.
Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

Make sure FRST is run under administrator privileges.
Make sure that the Whitelist section is checked.Otherwise, the log will be very long.
You Security programs may prevent the tool from running. If this happens, disable the security program until the scan is completed.
                • Right click to run as administrator (XP users click run after receipt of Windows Security Warning - Open File). When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.

                • Press "Scan".

                • It will create a log (FSS.txt) in the same directory the tool is run.
                • Please copy and paste the log to your reply.
                • The first time the tool is run it generates another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST.exe/FRST64.exe). Please also paste that along with the FRST.txt into your reply.
