My army stepson has a laptop with windows xp. He has virus and spyware problems that I cannot rectify so I am trying to format his hard drive but when I type the command from c:\format c: it gives me this: "format not supported on drive c: format terminated".
I can see "format.com from the directory when I type dir/w but it appears disabled. I am wondering if the virus or spyware has disabled the format and/or what can I do to fix it?
I keep getting a popup wanting me to go to "topantispyware.com to fix the spyware problem but I suspect this is where the problem came from.
