Files are automatically opened
« on: August 06, 2004, 09:59:52 PM »
When I go to download something on the internet, the box that asks if I want to 'open' or 'save' or 'cancel' is gone, and all files are automatically opened. I need to save certain files.
Please help me bring the box back! ???

What have you done in order to make the options dissapear? Are you using a download manager?

I have Windows XP, which was pre-installed with Internet Explorer. I'm not sure which version of explorer I have. I think I accidentally unticked the tick box that said always ask before preforming this operation. And no, I don't even know what a download manager is.
I hope this helps!

you are using ie6 on winxp...go to tools/internet options/advanced tab ...click....restore defaults click...the click ok...done..a download manager some people using ..it all depends on your net connection..for example get right....when ever you connection is broken the download manager resumes your downloads with without file loss...
