Was the 737 Max problem the software?

As you know, last year two Boeing 737 max aircraft ceased and killed all aboard. The company claimed it was a software problem and would be fixed soon.

Now some internal information has been made public. It becomes clear the real problem was not software at all, nor could software ever cover up the flaws.
