    Saving file is slow
    « on: May 19, 2020, 02:01:54 PM »
Hello, I have this weird problem. Let me demonstrate on Google Chrome, but it keeps happening on Discord, Photoshop and other programs as well..

I wanna download a file. I press "download" button, file explorer pops up with question where do I want to save my file. I choose location, press save and I have to wait 10 seconds, because Windows won't let me to click anything, it keeps ringing that error sound effect. After those 10 seconds, file starts downloading and I can work again.

Same thing with Photoshop. I export a PNG file for example, I choose location and when I press "save", it takes 10 seconds to save the file.

    Can someone help?

    UPDATE:

    sfc /scannow didn't work
    malwarebytes found nothing

Might be a problem with your quick access in the save dialog waiting a long time to access a device

you can try this for a fix

in file explorer go to view -> options

Under the general tab, under privacy, uncheck the "Show frequently used..." options, click OK

It also looking for issues could be your connection speeds...and or the age/health of the HDD...

        Thank you guys.

1)nil - I tried this too, it didn't help unfortunately..

2)patio -  C: is 256GB SSD, old as this pc, so probably one year, D: and E: are two 1TB HDDs, one is 2 years old and one is probably a lot older. Can that old old E: cause those problems?

You might be right about that old drive. You could try unmounting it in Disk Management.

If you unmount it, and the problem continues, it's probably something else.
