    I have just let a Win 10 update go through and it has changed most of my icons desktop and others ?? Put a white blank on them??? Anybody been here??? Plz.

    Are these icons still functional to launch whatever they were pointed to?

    Ive only seen this when a pathing issue happened where the associated application or shortcut was broken like a USB stick that had the data at G: and then the letter changed from G: to F: etc.

    If you right-click on them it should give you the ability to look at the path to see if the path to application or shortcut is still correct.

      You could try restoring your computer to an earlier point if you have it set up to have restore points to fall back on. I'd make sure you backup your data to an external drive prior to using a restore point as a cure to this issue to protect from data loss.

        I do regular backups but when I tried to restore nothing worked??? However I persevered and found Win 10's remarkable Restore program.. so I have solved the problem with this method my friend.  Many thanks for your support here and that goes for all members who spend time helping others.  Following the basic Bible principle here. :-* :-*
