Cant Find access to change first boot device
« on: February 08, 2006, 04:16:25 AM »
Cant Find access to change first boot device  to cd rom, trying to install new hard drive, and have been pointed towards changing this option after operating system not found message , using phoenix bios.
any help greatly appreciated.
Computer Make is NEC and Model is Versa AX,
I can get into bios setup but there is no option in menu to change boot device.
it is quite old, AMD 600mhz K62, but it has recently been upgraded to run Win Xp and it booted straight away to the Upgrade CD.

Can you get into BIOS setting anyway?
The option should be under BIOS setup.
    Check out your motherboard manual.

If you could post your computer or motherboard make/model we could offer helpful information. I am just not into guessing today.  ::)

For NEC like Packard Bell is usually F2

    Try these ones http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/bios_manufacturer.htm
