    I need to load this machine in Dos mode in order to run a program on Dos.

    Normally Pressing F8 while loading it ends up in  C:\> and then I go into the required directory.

    Now pressing F8 it is booting up with the below (in german translated by google):-

    Starting MS-Dos ...

    MS-DOS will show you each CONFIG.SYS command for confirmation.
    DOS=HIGH.UMB [J,N]?

    There are more steps with?? like the last line but have gone into or recorded to show here.

    Can you pls suggest how to proceed.

    Thank you in advance.

    Is DOS installed ? ?...if not it is just using DOS mode...
    It's safe to say yes to all the options and go from there...

    What program ?

    F5 skips config.sys and autoexec.bat.

    F8 prompts you for each line in config.sys before it executes it.
