Speech to text on a chromebook
    « on: June 24, 2023, 04:49:13 AM »
My wife has no technical skills and struggles with a non smartphone. She is rapidly losing her sight and with it the ability to write letters. My PC skills are not much better but I want to see if she could cope with this. I will print her text as most of her many  friends are also non techy.

I'm trying to find a very basic programme but googling produces only very sophisticated ones.  Can anyone suggest something suitable?

I heard just about a gboard as a speech-to-text keyboard. It's been preinstalled on some android smartphones and it is free.
If you want to use gboard on your PC, then you have to download and install an android emulator, Bluestacks, or MEmu. Once you got installed it on your PC, you can install gboard to this emulator.
