    Down loading Photos
    « on: November 18, 2023, 12:17:30 AM »
My problem is when I download photographs they go into D drive and I cannot use them, In fact they just disappear into thin air. trying results in this being shown this,  D DCIM location is not available, so make sure the device or drive is connected. I think I must activate C DRIVE. Where has it gone, did I do something to block it?   If my thinking is correct how do I fix it? knowing my ham-fisted approach would not work I request your expert advice, Thanks.

Usually downloaded material will go to the C drive under Downloads unless you change it.

First of all, what is d: drive? Is it a partition on your hard drive, an external usb device, or your phone (you reference DCIM)? Second, from where are you downloading the photographs? It's difficult to offer helpful advice if we don't understand what it is you are doing.

Sorry you don't understand, I use a card reader and plug it into the laptop, from there the photos are loaded into D drive. the problem is they should have gone into C drive,(I am talking about the main computer drives) If I do happen to find any I cannot do anything with them for the message I previously mentioned. How do I fix?

When you download anything and want it to go to a specific location, right-click on the file, choose "save as", and specify the destination.

Shure, I would love to right click on C drive, but as I have repeatedly said.it's not there to click on.

Your card reader cannot be c: drive. When you plug in the card reader, open Explorer, open the card reader, find the photo, right-click, and go from there. I don't understand what c: drive (which is ALWAYS the system drive within your computer) has to do with anything.
