monitor starting to flicker/turn blue tinted
« on: March 04, 2006, 10:20:13 AM »
I have a 17 inch Gateway monitor which is about ten years old.  I have been using Windows XP for the past couple of years on a Dell, Pentium III computer which is about 3 or 4 years old.  Lately, the monitor has "flickered" to a blue tint and stayed blue tinted for a minute or two, then turns back to normal.  Anyone have any ideas?

10 years of use is certainly fair. It may just be preparing to die and showing it's old age. No user servicable parts, and the cost of a repair would outweigh the value of it. Use it till it drops.  ;)

Braddr:

GX1 is likely right.  Just in case, check that the data cable from the monitor to the computer is securely connected, as a loose connection may also cause the symptoms you describe.
