Wireless internet access

Hi there - I am new to this forum. Am looking for ways to locate and identify the owners of wireless internet networks in my neighborhood so that I can pay to get internet access through their network.  In terms of my lease agreement I cannot enter into a direct agreement with an SP - so I have to use dial up and it is very slow. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help - there were some interesting links - I'm not sure that I will find exactly what I am looking for. I may need to canvas my neighborhood somehow to find a neighbor who is willing to 'sub-let' wireless access.
