moving programs between users
« on: April 27, 2006, 01:04:12 PM »
I downloaded a free typing program on widows xp home. It works fine. However when trying to access it from a second user, it is nowere to be found. Both user accounts are administrateors? How can I make this availible to all accounts on XP.

Thanks Pringles3030

Why not just install it under the other user?  If that typing tutor program tracks progress, each user would want to maintain their account anyway, wouldn't they?

It should be very simple. Find out where you installed your program (ussually in c:\program files). Create a shortcut on the desktop to the exe file (on the desktop of the 2nd user). This is the "hard" method.
The "easy" method is to copy the shortcut of the program (I suppose you have at least one shortcut, on the desktop of the user with wich you installed the program or in the Start menu) to c:, and then, log in with the second user and move the shortcut to desktop.
