being harrassed
« on: June 15, 2006, 08:27:41 PM »
Greetings,

Can I get some input on a problem Im having?

Im being harrassed on "my disease" {Torticollis} bullitin board
Ive been a member of that bb for about 6 years now with no problems untill last Sept 05'

Someone is doing havoc on the board and using my writing style, my words, my bag, my moniker, to make it "look like" Im doing the havoc, Im not.
Im almost to the point of leaving but I havent done anything to warrent my departure

I have contacted the {master} but havent got any replys { no one gets replys from the webmaster}
rude, hurtful ,comments are never removed from there
Im am at my wits end with the harrassment
My husband says just 'leave it' but I cant
Is there anything I can do "with clout "to get the perp off my back without a war?
I think I know whos {a woman} doing it but have no proof
How do I track down the IP address of the instagator?
Thank you in advance
winkinpenny

If someone is using your account to do damage, make a hard password and scan for viruses and Spyware in your computer. If the administrator won't do anything, then you might have to make another forum accont, and not let this person know you have it.

Yes, just post a link to the one of the board's threads with you in it and post your online name and the perpetrator's.

Just make it clear that you are not doing this, maybe by making your final lines of each post "Mr. Jerk (or whatever) obviously has no regards for people afflicted with this ailment. Please disregard anything he/she posts and recognize it for the mean spirited crappola that it is" or something along those lines. If this person is logging in under your name, you should of course change this and pick a different password, if this has been compromised. Sometimes pointing it out is enough, but in the end there is nothing you can do by yourself, and it will just make you feel powerless and frustrated when you try. Some people are just jerks, but fortunately that can be easily spotted by everyone. The webmaster would be the only one with the power to ban a poster and/or their IP address.
This was my previous message on the original thread, for the interested.

Well, if it has become more pain than pleasure, moving on may be a good idea. Unfortunately many of those support forums have some folks with a LOT of issues and personal baggage.

Good luck to you.  ;)

What became very apparent ......... too many women with too much time on their hands and nothing better to do.

Couldnt find any real heated discussions .........  LOL

I actually kind of like Britney but found her a tad immature this evening. It just seemed to me that she could be acting a little more adult like since she's a Mom.

I think we need a "What do you think about Britney Spears" Thread too.

    I'll start.

    ZOOOOOM ZOOOOOOM ZOOOM! :-[

winkinpenny......  Quick answer , You can't.
If you suspect you have , cancel or cease using all on line ........ services..... or at the very least change all your passords .
Once the dust settles , create new accounts with new usernames ....and put no info in the profiles .
