Belarc will not help with sound card identification if the drivers are not loaded. Everest Home will help. Just download and run and post the report file here. You will learn a lot about your computer.

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html

For a Dell, ALL the drivers ever released are available on their site.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Just put in your service tag OR choose Optiplex/GX150 on the ruight side, choose your operating system and off you go.

Go back to the page where you downloaded the soundblaster and choose the first option under sound for the Analog Devices.

You have onboard sound (located on the motherboard) not a sound card but you DO have sound. Dell driveres are preferred to get this resolved. (For some reason that link to the driver wouldn't work, but try again as instructed.)

Just put in your service tag OR choose Optiplex/GX150 on the ruight side, choose your operating system and off you go.

Additional Info:

That system has been upgraded since it was originally shipped new on 5/30/01. The original 128 meg RAM has been upgraded to a 256 meg. and the original 10 gig drive has been replaced with an 80 gig. That should be all you need for Windows 2000.

Here is the manual:

Yes, when you choose that you will get 5-6 choices. The Analog Devices is the top one. It is a SoundMax driver (when you get it installed).
